Dr. Nayana Vyas
President and Founder
Dr. Vyas was raised in Uganda, where she was unlike most of the girls. She preferred science and was encouraged to enter medicine by her brother. After Idi Amin expelled all of the Asians in the country, Dr. Vyas would never return. Alone in a new land, Dr. Vyas experienced her first round of medical training at India’s finest universities. Her first residency brought her to rural India, where she was ordered to assist with the Sanjay Gandhi sterilization project.
Dr. Vyas moved to England to live with her husband and his family. Forced into a second residency, Dr. Vyas experienced a regimented government-run health care system, where care was coordinated through a central physician. After a third residency in the U.S., Dr. Vyas created her own destiny, moving to Orlando and building Family Physicians Group into a national leader in primary care. FPG was recognized regularly for their reduced costs and improved care.
In 1987, Dr. Nayana Vyas opened her first clinic in Orlando. It was a realization of a lifetime of learning about the world’s medical practices. Using the best medicine from England, India and the United States, Dr. Vyas quickly figured out how to bring patient-centered care to primary care, resulting in lower costs and improved outcomes.
Over the next three decades, Family Physicians Group expanded throughout Florida, becoming one of the country’s top primary care practices. The company founded by Dr. Vyas was focused on Medicare patients and providing integrated care to its tens of thousands patients.
Indrajit C. Vyas
Visionary Healthcare Entrepreneur
Indrajit C. Vyas is a pioneering healthcare executive whose career spans four continents and has been marked by innovation, leadership, and a commitment to providing accessible, cost-effective medical care. Born in Uganda, Mr. Vyas’s academic journey began in Uganda and continued in India, where he earned a certified accounting degree. He relocated to London, England, with his wife, Nayana Vyas, MD, where he began his career at the Inland Revenue Tax Department.
He and his wife found new opportunities in the US, where he earned his degree in business administration at Roosevelt College in Chicago. Finally settling in the Orlando, Florida area, he and his wife founded Family Physicians Group (FPG) in 1987. He was the CEO, managing the business end of the practice, while Dr. Vyas ran the medical side. Together, they built FPG into the largest primary care practice in Central Florida, which earned numerous awards for excellence and gained national recognition for its cost-effective, values-based medical model. They maintained their stellar performance until they sold the practice in 2016.
On the business side of the practice, Mr. Vyas spearheaded a number of groundbreaking initiatives, including:
- A strategic partnership with the Naval Hospital Partnership Program (1988–1993) at Naval Hospital Orlando, Naval Training Center (NTC) Orlando
- Expansion of FPG into pharmacy services and hospitalist care across Orlando hospitals
- Launch of FPG Healthcare Pvt Ltd in Chennai, India, to streamline back-office operations by performing functions like medical billing, MRA chart review, quality care gap reviews, website management, CRM, and technology
- Launch of FPG Columbia, in Columbia, South America, to streamline back-office operations, including supporting indexing and preload, coding, and documentation audits for Medicare Risk Adjustment
- Development of a robust IT infrastructure to support clinical and administrative efficiency
- Creation of a profitable Accountable Care Organization (ACO) serving Medicare populations (2012–2016)
- Created a health plan for Medicare and Medicaid HMOs
Beyond healthcare, Mr. Vyas built a diversified portfolio in real estate, acquiring and developing medical office buildings to support FPG’s growth. He also owned and managed a number of restaurants.
Indrajit C. Vyas’s career reflects a rare blend of financial acumen, operational excellence, and visionary leadership. His legacy continues to inspire innovation in healthcare delivery and entrepreneurial success across multiple sectors.
Erik Bonnett
Board Member
Erik Bonnett is a Partner and Wealth Advisor at Tripletail Wealth Management, LLC, an independent Registered Investment Advisor based in Orlando, Florida.
With a unique background spanning legal, taxation, and engineering fields, Erik brings a multidisciplinary perspective to wealth management. He holds a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida. Before co-founding Tripletail Wealth Management, LLC, Erik practiced law at a Florida-based firm and spent over nine years in wealth management and trust administration at Regions Private Wealth.
Erik specializes in estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and trust construction, helping clients navigate complex tax implications and preserve generational wealth. His approach emphasizes personalized, fiduciary-guided solutions delivered with a family-office feel.
Originally from Winter Haven, Florida, Erik now resides in the College Park neighborhood of Orlando with his wife, Rachel, and their three children, Graham, Drew, and Brooke.
Jacques D. Blais, CPA
Board Member
Jacques has over forty years of experience practicing taxation, primarily with one of Orlando’s top public accounting firms. He was the partner in charge of the tax department for Vestal and Wiler, CPAs until his retirement in 2023. He was responsible for tax planning to Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, S Corporations, Individuals, Trusts and Non-Profit entities. He also provides consulting services for real estate ownership, cost segregation studies, business restructuring, estate tax planning and retirement planning. Jacques was a Certified Succession Planner and served as the firm’s estate and trust expert. Jacques has consulted with numerous high net-worth individuals in preparing and complying with their estate and succession plans. Jacques also has significant experience resolving disputes with the Internal Revenue Service. He has also lectured on various tax matters.
